Many societal issues are not discussed exclusively on the level of content anymore but of the image. We can think in this regard of 9/11, the Arabic Spring, ISIS etc. Most of the images that arrive us in daily life are designed or adapted, and they certainly do have a huge influence on our thinking.

In my paintings I research images and image-worlds, that I come across in my daily life and which are provided throughout various media like the internet, tv, commercials and others. In particular I deal with aspects as politics, power, art and architecture.

Essential for me is a critical approach towards these images and how I re-consider them in my works. A salient feature of my paintings is the unfinished character, the deliberately not-painted. Eventually, the viewer gets confronted with „painterly-gaps“ that he/she can fill in according to his/her own context and perception.
